Policies Scofield House - Bed and Breakfast Inn located in scenic Door County

We are happy to answer any questions you might have about your stay in Sturgeon Bay, and Door County Wisconsin,
including the best spots to dine, tour and shop.

Reservations/Rates: All rates are per room based on single or double occupancy and include a full hot bountiful breakfast. We do not offer triple occupancy in the B&B, however, you may want to check our Guest House when traveling with additional people. Prices in the Guest House are based on up to six people and do not include breakfast. Please view our reservations availability calendar, or call us. Rates do not include taxes and are subject to change.

B&B Weekends: A two-night minimum is required on weekends June-October and holidays.

Guest House Minimum Stay: A two night stay is required.

Deposit: A deposit equaling one night's stay is payable by credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, personal checks and qualified gift certificates. Balance is due upon arrival.

Cancellations: Cancellations affect us greatly. A full refund will be provided when advised 14 or more days prior to arrival date. If a later cancellation is necessary, a refund will be issued only if we are able to re-rent the room. No refunds provided for unused days due to late arrival or early departure.

Check In: 3-7PM We are unable to accomodate early arrivals. Please notify innkeeper if you will be arriving later than 7 PM.

Check Out: By 11AM

Breakfast: A complimentary full hot breakfast is served in our dining area between 8:30 and 9:00 for our B&B guests. The Guest House does not include breakfast as it has a fully equipped kitchen for your use.

Children: We recommend reserving our Guest House when traveling with children.

Pets: Although we cannot accommodate pets, we are happy to recommend a local kennel if needed. Please note that there is a resident family dog residing in the innkeepers quarters.

Smoking: We are a smoke-free inn.

Candles: For safety and fire code reasons, absolutely NO open flames of any kind are allowed in guest rooms. No candles or incense - Sorry, No exceptions will be made.

Parking: Off-street parking available.

Gift Certificates: Call or order online gift certificates... the perfect wedding, thank you, holiday or "just because" gift.

Groups: For group arrangements for Scofield House B&B or Guest House, please call in advance to discuss all options with the innkeeper.

Common Areas: Enjoy common areas for guests both inside and outside.

History: The intricate Victorian Scofield House, built in 1902 for the Scofield family, was the grandest house in Sturgeon Bay. A local businessman, Mr. Scofield owned Scofield Co. Hardware and also served 2 terms as mayor of Sturgeon Bay. The house reflects the opulence of "high" Victorian architecture. Amazing beveled crystal and stained glass windows sparkle with streaming sunlight. The window and door frames are ornamented with hand-carved bows, ribbons, swags and flowers. Gleaming hardwood floors are accented with borders inlaid with geometric patterns of four to five different woods including red and white oak, maple and cherry.

Over a hundred years have passed, and today's guests are still immersed in true Victorian ambience, surrounded by old-world craftsmanship and superb antique furnishings, heirlooms and original Scofield family memorabilia. Images of a time past and things remembered become reality when staying as a guest at the Scofield House.
